Granola - Dragon Ball Super

The promo for the latest episode of Dragon Ball Super finally revealed a lot of new things to come in the Japanese series. In addition to a new storyline, fans are about to discover a new group of villains who will once again try to take down Goku and his companions. 🏆

Dragon Ball Super has indeed officially launched its new arc: Granola the Survivor. With the death of Moro, a new villain will therefore be presented to the general public, as well as a group of villains and a mysterious powerful fighter.

But who is this mysterious fighter who will soon surpass Son Goku? Dragon Ball Super Chapter 68 reveals more about Granola 's backstory and puts him on a collision course with the franchise's biggest warriors. WHO IS GRANOLA IN DRAGON BALL SUPER?

Granola (グラノラGuranora) is the sole survivor of the Cereal race that was wiped out by the Saiyan Army. Motivated by his desire for revenge, he therefore seeks to gain more power to kill the tyrant Frieza and thus avenge his people. 🎑

Granola is a severe and serious individual. He has a deep love for his people, and is constantly haunted in his dreams by the memory of the arrival of the Frieza Force and the Saiyans transforming into the Oozaru great apes, destroying his city. He therefore developed a deep hatred against Frieza and the Saiyans who invaded his homeworld and eradicated his people . 🌍

After their deaths, Granola became obsessed with avenging his fallen brothers. However, after hearing about the destruction of Planet Vegeta and Frieza's death, Granola almost gave up on his quest for revenge. His determination was renewed when he learned that Frieza had been resurrected, as it could give him the chance to kill him and avenge his people. After learning of Frieza 's resurrection, he eagerly asks Elec to tell him where he is so he can kill him immediately. 💥

PLOTS IN THE DRAGON BALL SUPER MANGA

Introduced in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 67, Granola breaks into the manga by destroying a team of Seventhree clones. However, this introduction left a number of questions about this character's motivations and why he wanted the body of OG73-I, who worked with the villainous Moro. The answer to these questions quickly emerged, however, as Dragon Ball Super chapter 68 reveals Granola's backstory, and it sets him on an explosive trajectory with Goku, Vegeta, and the recently revived Frieza . ⚡

Dragon Ball Super Chapter 68 opens with the destruction of Granola's people - the Cerealians - by an army of Saiyans in their Oozaru forms, which is part of a recurring nightmare that the fighter has been experiencing. Granola laments to his computer, Oatmeel, that he is unable to take revenge on those who destroyed his people, as he believes Frieza and the Saiyans are gone. Word of Frieza 's exploits since his revival at the end of the Universe Survival Saga has apparently not reached Granola, and he seems unaware that Goku and Vegeta even exist. 😲

But all this will change quickly. Granola arrives at the gang's base and gives Seventhree's body to them in exchange for a bounty. The gang's leader - Elec - then reveals to him that Frieza is actually alive , prompting Granola to demand more information so he can take revenge on the monster. Granola becomes aggressive and a gang member named Gas easily eliminates the young fighter. From there, Granola goes looking for Frieza . However, angering Granola was part of Elec's plan, as he wanted Frieza to kill the fighter before he became more powerful than Gas and thus caused the gang's problems. 👊🏻

GRANOLA LOOKING FOR FREEZER

In space, Granola is ambushed by a mercenary named Soshiru and a group of his allies. The group hopes to steal the bounty Granola just obtained for Seventhree's body. However, Granola is not one to give in easily. The fighter tricks Soshiru and his allies into entering his ship and begins taking them out from afar, revealing that the Cerealians are expert snipers . 🎯

After this battle, Granola recognizes that he cannot beat Frieza yet and therefore vows to become the strongest fighter in the universe. Immediately following this wish, Dragon Ball Super Chapter 68 focuses on the Oracle Fish on Beerus' planet, prophesying, "Universe 7... balance... changing... the most powerful warrior in the universe... will get up soon." 🔮

The placement of the Oracle Fish prophecy in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 68 hints that Granola will soon become the strongest fighter in the universe. However, how he will achieve this kind of strength is not entirely clear. Although Granola has proven to be formidable, there is no way he will be on the level of someone such as Goku, who can finally use Ultra Instinct with regularity.

That being said, the Dragon Ball universe is full of limitless possibilities - as well as magical crystal balls that can grant any wish. So there's a good chance that Granolah will have to cheat to get revenge on Frieza and, potentially, the last members of the Saiyan race who destroyed her people. 👊🏻

THE POWERS OF GRANOLA REVEALED!

Dragon Ball Super also revealed Granola's special powers in the new chapter of the series! The previous chapter of the series ended the Prisoner of the Galactic Patrol arc, but rather than wrapping everything up with a neat bow, the Dragon Ball manga instead began teasing the next major arc of the series with our mysterious warrior. It is confirmed in the latest chapter that the next big arc will focus on this new adversary, Granola, and her mysterious abilities. 😎

This new chapter revealed to us some of the abilities he had, such as an eye that allows him to shoot targets at long distances. Luring a group of bounty hunters into a trap, he ends up shooting them from a distance. Granola have straight eyes which make them adept at marksmanship, and it is meant that Granola's abilities are the best of the ancient race. He also has at his disposal a “stun gun” type ki laser whose intensity he can increase. But the most important thing here is that he teases the trigger that he's going to get a lot stronger.

THE GREATEST WARRIOR PROPHECY

According to several magazines, this mysterious warrior can surpass Goku's abilities and powers, meaning he will indeed be the most powerful in the universe. No one knows who this mystery figure actually is or what the prophecy means, but it gives rise to many theories:

• The first concerns hypotheses about Bra . Bulma and Vegeta's daughter was born in the middle of the Dragon Ball Super series, so she could be the one the prediction was for. Just like what the Oracle Fish said, any warrior could "literally birth this bow."

• The next is the metaphorical vision of birth. A warrior can be born at any time, especially when the situation demands it. 👶🏻

• So the prophecy may not literally mean a newborn baby, but someone who is born again as a warrior . It's a little vague, we grant you that. It could even be Goku, who can once again possess a new power, giving birth to a new ability. 🔥

WILL GOKU HAVE TO FACE BARDOCK’S LEGACY?

This new “Granola The Survivor” arc of Dragon Ball Super just got a lot more interesting. This new chapter revealed some pretty big new details about new character Granola 's backstory - and her connection to the android Seventhree from the Moro Arc. As you may have read above, it turns out that Granola comes from a race called the Cerealians, who were wiped out by "barbaric apes" under the command of King Frieza. Clearly, Granola has a major grudge against the Saiyans - and especially our dearest Goku. Glimpses of a Granola flashback sequence reveal that it was Bardock who attacked Granola's house and presumably killed his family. 👨‍👨‍👦‍👦💥

One of the biggest curiosities of the Dragon Ball franchise has been Goku's complete disinterest in his Saiyan heritage and lineage. In the official Dragon Ball storyline, Goku never really did much to investigate or honor his father Bardock and mother Gine, or honor their memories as a warrior. In fact, it wasn't until the recent Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie that we heard Goku even say his real Saiyan name: Kakarot . 😲

However, Dragon Ball Super: Broly admittedly gave the series a lot more work to get Goku to bond with Bardock. Broly traced the entire history of the destruction of planet Vegeta, as well as Bardock's role in this event. This updated narrative positioned Bardock as a much more sympathetic anti-hero figure who cared about his wife and sons, resulting in a Superman-style origin for Goku, as Bardock sent her baby in a world where her Saiyan power would prove more buried. More importantly, Bardock ended up opposing Frieza and led the final fight against the King's Annihilation attack. It was a heroic moment - but does it erase a past of murder and destruction across the universe?

That's the question that Dragon Ball Super will hopefully have Goku grappling with, in this new Granola The Survivor arc. Goku's denial of his own problems and family roots is about to come back in his face, and we hope that Akira Toriyama and Toyotaro will open up new dimensions to the character, beyond just fighting to become more powerful. It will be interesting to see if this reconciliation will cause Goku to reevaluate the legacy of pain that the Saiyans have left in him and what he may need to do to fix it. 👊🏻

THE PROMISES OF TORIYAMA AND TOYOTARO

Twitter user Dragon Ball Hype shared this brief clip from current super artist, Toyotaro , which shows just how involved the creator of Goku and the Z-Fighters' story is in the upcoming arc that sets up a whole new tale after the defeat of Moro and his clan:

Toyotaro noted that Toriyama provided a draft for the upcoming story arc, which will be full of "gadgets and reveals", showing that the Dragon Ball creator still has ideas about the direction of the series as we Let's continue to follow Goku in his quest to fight against harder and ever more powerful enemies. Needless to say, the stakes will have to be raised considerably considering Moro's resistance and the new villains to come! 👊🏻
