10. GOKU VS TAO PAI PAI
After learning many skills through his learning master Awesome Turtle, Goku proved himself to be one of the strongest people in the world by participating in the Budokai Tenkaichi Tournament . And after that, he started fighting against the Red Ribbon Army and tore apart countless members of their brotherhood... until he met the mercenary Tao Pai Pai. 🏴☠️
Despite his extensive training, Tao highlights several weaknesses in the future saiyan's mode of operation and easily defeats him. He hits Goku with a Dodon Ray and leaves him for dead. The only reason Goku managed to survive was because the 4-Star Crystal Ball had absorbed most of the impact. How lucky! 🔮
9. GOKU VS KING PICCOLO
After the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament, Goku's next opponent ended up being King Piccolo . This villain is an iconic personality from the original Dragon Ball saga. He is also known for being the first villain of the series. He intended to eliminate all the strongest martial fighters in the world to ensure that no one could oppose him, but he found himself in front of little Goku, furious because Piccolo had killed his friend. 😡
But no matter how angry Goku was, it didn't stop King Piccolo from giving Goku a royal beating. In the end, the only reason Goku was still alive was because his opponent thought he was dead. Fortunately, Yajirobe later discovered he was alive and was able to successfully extricate Goku from the battlefield. It was a close call! 😲
8. WHEN VEGETA TURNED INTO OOZARU
After narrowly beating Vegeta in their fight after fighting against the moon rays, Goku literally has no energy left and is visibly weakening. Unfortunately for him, Vegeta reserved his secret weapon for Goku and decided to transform into his great ape Oozaru form to fight against a Goku who obviously no longer had any strength. 🐵
When a Saiyan absorbs the entire amount of moon rays through his eyes, it triggers a reaction in his tail, allowing the transformation into the great ape Oozaru. A very small number of Saiyans can also transform without the presence of the moon. With his strength multiplied tenfold, Goku no longer had a chance against Vegeta and his special form, he not being able to transform because he no longer had his tail. So all he could do was run away and try to charge a powerful spirit bomb as the last thing. Vegeta almost killed Goku, and it was only thanks to Gohan, Krillin, and Yajirobe that any of them survived. 😉
We remind you that the Oozaru form is a fictional transformation in the world of Dragonball, seen in the original Dragonball series, Dragonball Z and Dragonball GT. The transformation has evolved from a transformation only available to Son Goku in the original Dragonball, to a transformation frequently used by the Saiyan race in Dragonball Z and GT. 🙉
Few people can boast of being able to beat Goku ... Although he can be surprised because of his tendency not to fight seriously!
7. WHEN HE UNDERESTIMATED GINYU
None of the Z-Fighters knew that the Ginyu Commando might be able to save Vegeta at first. And yet! Sometimes you have to be wary of appearances in Japanese anime. Even Goku obviously had no knowledge of Ginyu 's power. When Goku arrived, he had no problem taking out Recoome with a single elbow strike, aimed at his chest, and also took Barta down pretty quickly. Nothing therefore foreshadowed an insurmountable hidden power to beat. 🌸
But afterward, the fights were so easy for him that he seemed to take the remaining members of the Ginyu Force as a joke by underestimating their striking power. There really shouldn't have been any comeback after Goku swapped bodies with Ginyu after Ginyu got injured. Ginyu should have beaten Goku with his own body and won, but he couldn't control Goku's power. 😉
6. WHEN THE SPIRITUAL BOMB FAILED
When Goku used the Spirit Bomb on Frieza , it involved him creating an energy attack with more power than anything he had ever amassed before. It was a memorable moment in the series. He gathered the power of the neighboring planets for this attack and therefore planned to use it on the new intergalactic villain to end his rule and tyranny. 💥
Unfortunately, instead, it mostly scratched the alien's body. Ultimately, Frieza 's actions caused Goku to transform into a Super Saiyan, but what if Frieza had simply returned to kill Goku? Or what if there had never been a Super Saiyan? So the legend was true and it turned out to be a happy coincidence. ✨
5. GOKU VS CELL
Goku's arrogance during this arc was a fairly recurring problem. After showing Vegeta and Trunks training with harper in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, he allowed everyone to spend days training thanks to this mystical zone that slowed down time in real life. But Goku and Gohan barely made it through a year, merely mastering the Super Saiyan form before moving on. Which will turn out to be a shame because they could really have developed more skills in it! 🤬
So at this point in the saga, Goku hadn't really made a plan - he simply wanted to fight Cell to gauge his strength, then let Gohan kill Cell. If Cell hadn't had so much influence from the Saiyans, his death would have been much quicker. 🥋
4. GOKU VS C-19
Goku faced Android 19 in a fight that should have been an easy victory for him on paper. Eventually, Vegeta destroyed C-19 with ease and that was even after letting Android 19 absorb much of his energy. 😲
But Goku also used his strength to support him and allowed the android's threat to calm down, with Future Trunks returning in time to warn him that he was going to ruin the earth. If Android 19 had been more bloodthirsty, this could have been the end of Goku at that point in the saga! 💉
3. GOKU VS BEERUS
Beerus really took things second-hand compared to Goku and the other Z-Warriors for way longer than he should have. At this stage of Dragon Ball Super, Toriyama admitted that he was not really interested in making the God of Destruction an iconic and serious character because he brought comedic and light elements to the series. 📖
The first arc of Super is therefore more fun than the tone we were used to knowing in the DBZ series, Beerus being there to bring a lot of jokes and gags. But make no mistake about where he originally came from, because Beerus was primarily there to blow up the Earth if he couldn't take on the Super Saiyan God. But Beerus had already faced Goku once and beaten him after just a few moves, meaning Beerus could have ended Goku with a snap of his fingers whenever he really wanted to. 😲
2. GOKU VS ZAMASU
Goku technically died after his face-off against Zamasu , which is how they ended up with Goku Black to begin with. Zamasu transferred himself into Goku's model, implanted himself into his body, and killed the old Goku. During the Future Trunks arc, Zamasu will repeatedly inflict dangerous blows on Goku that should have meant certain death. 💀
The group of fighters will only be able to survive because they have returned to the past, where they will actually be able to find new answers to fight against Goku Black and Zamasu.
1. GOKU VS GOLDEN FREEZER
Frieza has always been a sore loser. After Vegeta easily dominated him in a match, Frieza grew tired of the idea of losing to another Saiyan. His next plan? Destroy the Earth of course.
Frieza will be destroyed by Vegeta once his power begins to dissipate, and in response to this, he blew up the Earth. Everyone dies immediately except Goku, Beerus and Whis. The God of Destruction will rewind time so Goku can have another chance to beat Frieza , and that is the only reason he or any of the other players in the saga will be able to succeed. ⌛
